CanCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Cancellations must be submitted in WRITING at least two weeks prior to any scheduled event and will incur a 25% service fee. Due to Association agreements and guarantees, no refunds will be made on registration fees less than two weeks prior to the event. Registration fees are forfeited if you are not able to attend the event for which you are registered.

If a refund is given, it is given in the same format as received: if paid by check, refund is by check; if paid by credit card, refund goes through that card.

By registering for and participating in any event hosted by NHWPCA, you, on your behalf and on behalf of any other third party acting on your behalf (collectively “you” or “Attendee”) hereby agree to these Attendee Terms and Conditions, with NHWPCA.

Wastewater 101 is an introductory training course designed to provide wastewater operators and individuals new to the wastewater field with a practical overview of wastewater treatment, laboratory practices, regulatory requirements, operator responsibilities, licensing, safety, and basic process troubleshooting. The course follows the treatment process from influent through preliminary, primary, secondary and tertiary treatment, disinfection, and solids handling. It also introduces the day-to-day responsibilities of wastewater operators, including laboratory testing, sampling, process control, SCADA monitoring, recordkeeping, permit compliance, and responding to common operational problems. 

Learning Objectives Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the basic purpose of wastewater treatment and the role of wastewater operators.
  • Identify the major stages of the wastewater treatment process.
  • Explain basic preliminary, primary, secondary, tertiary, disinfection, and solids-handling processes.
  • Recognize common wastewater laboratory procedures and quality-control practices.
  • Explain the importance of sampling, monitoring, process control, and accurate recordkeeping. 
  • Understand the basic role of NPDES permits and NHDES oversight. 
  • Describe wastewater operator certification, continuing education, and career advancement. 
  • Recognize important operator safety responsibilities. 
  • Apply basic troubleshooting concepts to common wastewater treatment scenarios.
